Storm heading towards Melbourne

To all the Melbournians, there is a massive storm heading your way. It just tore through here like a Hurricane!!!!!!!!!

Damaging winds and torrential rain.

It hit us at 3:00pm and didn't reduce till now (3:30pm) so it should reach Melbourne about 4:00pm. Still very windy here but not as bad.

Batten down the Hatches!!

But today there is sunshine (then clouds, then sunshine...) so it's still looking good for the weekend.

I still managed to do some observing the last two nights because the clouds had blown away by about 12am (or at least made big gaps, not little sucker holes either!). Got to test the 80L which was nice.

I noticed on the news that when the storm reached Melbourne it blew a Passenger Jet across the runway on landing and it blew a tyre and caught on fire! Everyone got off shaken but safe.
