Neptune or What??

Hi everyone. I was out imaging at home near Ipswich Queensland on Saturday 22nd August (last Saturday night). I was playing with my Canon 40d at prime focus on a Skywatcher 8 inch reflector. I gave up pretty early that night after taking a few prime focus shots of Jupiter and a few wide fields. When viewing the pictures the next day I found the following image. I did go to Neptune once and I think I may have taken a photo. But this image does not seem possible to me with such limited methods, but the stars in the photo when I went to Stellarium matched Neptune. It is a 30sec ISO1250 exposure untouched apart from the basic night scene option filter in Noiseware. Can anyone explain?? STEVE.

That looks like the Saturn Nebula, a Planetary Nebula aka NGC 7009.

R.A.: 21h04m10.9s Dec.: -11°21'48" (2000) in Aquarius
Magnitude: 8.30
Size: 28"

Cheers

Yep, that's the Saturn...the moment I saw it, I had a wry smile on my face

Good shot
