Off to the seaside

Middle of winter and I'm going to a little seaside town 300klms from the city for a week

Well you see it's on the coast where two oceans meet and it's reknowned for whale watching at this time of the year

So manned with my trusty telephoto and tripod I hope to get some happy snappies

If not weather permitting a litttle bit of fishing

otherwise lots of food, wine and song

Miss you

Have a great time. What town are you visiting? I assume it is down around Margaret River, which is a loverly area. There were pictures in the local paper today of some Orcas (killer whales) seen off the coast here. Apparently they are following their favourite food - humpback whales - south for the summer.

Have a great holiday Trevor I would be taking some warm cloths though as it will be freezing down there. Leaving the RC behind with all that dark sky .

No I'm taking my 350d with the 50mm f1.8 so if I get a clear night some widefield will be on the go. Made myself a little dew shield out of black cardboard to go over the lens.

Will be in the market for a small reasonably priced transprotable mount ITNF.

Carting the EQ6 away with the other scopes, I'd have to leave the missus behind but I don't think i'd get a warm reception to that
