Dat's planets!

Lots of cloud and rain, but as I drove home clouds cleared somewhat and I was looking at sparkling Mercury and Saturn (with edge-on rings, it is said) up ahead. Looked over my shoulder when I got a chance and there was Jupiter!

If (big IF) clouds clear tomorrow evening, I must pull out the C8 and check out my "new" used (thanks Jason) Burgess/TMB Planetary 5mm on these three. I'm looking forward to it. OMG - it'll be 400x in the C8! That will be a challenge with the planets low to the W and E!

There's a calculated 1 in 99859374953246987638795638795632986 53294876349877834296593875697832562 3490875349287563948756987 chance of clouds clearing this evening.

In my experience with Melbourne seeing, you'll be lucky to get half that power.

Strange, but my one chance hasn't come up. 100% clouds, and as has been the case in Victoria for many months, little to no rain with them.

I got to a comfortable 450x some weeks ago at Snake Valley - 10mm, 3xbarlow, 1500mm focal length f5 reflector.
