Mars photo from last night.

This is a photo of Mars from last night, it's not an good as the stacked images but it will give you an idea of what you can get with a 4 mp digital camera and a single photo. The sky was less than helpful but I had a ball taking over 400 photos to get about 6 keepers. I could see some good detail visually on the red planet in moments of steady seeing . It's well worth a look if you haven't already taken the time. You can see Mare Chronium and Mare Sirenum they are the two dark markings on the left, Mare Chronium being the smallest mark.

Single photo 1/15 sec at f/7 iso 200. I used a 26mm ep barlowed. The second photo in a crop from the first.

Excellent work Mick, nice colour and not too grainy for a single shot.

Good thanks Mike, Woody got both casts off a few weeks ago. He's healed up well.

Glad to hear he's OK. I was wondering how he was doing too.

Cheers Mick.
