Has anyone imaged the Cartwheel Galaxy?

Hi, I was wondering if anyone else has imaged the Cartwheel Galaxy (ESO 350-40)?
I have an image I took in 2005, but couldn't find any other amateur images of it at the time.

I would love to see this one imaged with one of the big CCD cams There must be some one who has done it?

I imaged this around 2000 using a C11 at f/10 and a ST-7.

It's an interesting looking object.
Thanks for bringing it to our attention.

So it is. Thanks David.

It seems to be a very small image scale so to use a large CCD on that you'd need massive focal length like 4 metres.

Greg.

I've seen an image of it taken with a Meade 16" ACF sct + STL11000M on Cloudy Nights once.. I'll see if I can dig it up later tonight.. suffice to say that was a 4m focal length, and from what I remember, the person who posted it said it was a struggle even with self guiding and a PME under the scope... at that kind of focal length you're always VERY luck to catch anything but a blur!

Great shots, guys....considering it's a very hard target for amateurs to image.

Alex...this might be a candidate where self guiding is a waste of time. Too narrow a FoV. Would be better off with a guidescope and autoguider.

I did one some time back when I first got the Vixen VC200L and I know Peter Ward imaged it also just after me. Both were posted here on IIS.

It is located in Sculptor near NGC253 but is small and very dim at about Mag 16 I think. ESO 350-40

Yes....good idea, pity I'm not setup at the moment. Anyway, the Moon's in the way and this fuzzy will need a dark night. Want to have a go Jeanette??

Those are excellent images of the Cartwheel guys Great to see some of the more obscure objects being imaged.
Personally I very much enjoy the hunt for exotic objects which are often very difficult to find. Hopefully I'll buy a large CCD next year instead of my current ToUCam, and then I'll definitely shoot the Cartwheel again.

Your image of the Cartwheel with a webcam is quite remarkable. It's not an easy object with a CCD.
