Post Thankfully, someone is having a go

http://www.nature.com/news/2009/0908....2009.774.html

Whilst the West, especially the US, sits on it's hands and talks a lot about climate change and new energy resources (all the while still relying on fossil fuels and doesn't seem to want to ween themselves off them), at least someone is bold enough to have a go and try for something different.

Good go, India. Even if it doesn't quite live up to the promise, it will still help.

Go India!
We can't even agree on a plan of action.
Let's hope our resources bail us out as we become a technological backwater in a world needing smart technology to reduce emissions.

The problem is, they won't bail us out and the more we rely on "living off the sheep's back" so to speak, the further behind we become.

Well done to India's vision.

We should have been doing this at least twenty years ago, then we would be a world leader by now and selling our technology to the rest of the world.

Cheers

We were and we still are world leaders in solar technology. We just don't have the political or commercial will to really do anything about it. That's why most of our inventions and technologies end up going overseas and being implemented by other countries and companies with more insight and commercial nouse than we have.

Like most things, we're all talk and no action...or it's the attitude, "Oh that's too hard to do here, we don't have the capability etc etc".
