M16 Eagle on a DSLR

Just a quick (well 3 hour combined (7 shots)) of the Eagle. I'm happy with the data - now its about learning how to process my shots better.

Nice shot, Matthew, guiding looks good, nice image scale. Just needs stretching a bit more to bring out the data that's there, adjust some of the colours (it's a tad blue) and your focus could do with a touch up. Actually, better focus would've made it look a lot...better, as it is

I am sure the processing could be alot better than what I've done. I've just played lightly with levels, curves, saturation and run a general Gaussian blur on anything that isn't a bright star - so beginner stuff.

The focus (as per a Bhatinov mask from memory) looked good to me - so maybe its the general Gaussian Blur stuffing things up!
