Better PAE ... now here's a thought

Forgive me if this sounds stoopid'

My mount is now in the one spot and never moves, If i do loads and loads of 1 star alignments, on a bright full moon type night ...

Will that increase my pointing accuracy for goto bucketloads? i am considering wipeing the PAE data, and doing a night with pinpoint alignments on all major stars.

i told you it was a mental question

That's how I increase accuracy with the Mini Tower.
I use the "Sync to Target" command which is practically the same as a 1 star align.
I usually start with Acrux, perform the sync, then Go-To a star from the northeast and sync. Then Go-To Acrux and repeat the sync.
The next target I Go-To will be in the FOV of a barlowed 15mm.

But mine's a completely different mount to yours so it may not be relevant.

Nahh, thats kinda the same, after the mount is initialised, it gives you a choice of 1, 2 or 3 star align. i usually do i star align, the brightest nearest star to the object i wanna image, then do teh same for subsequent images, so in that regard i guess its indentical.

Although i just got an HP NC6220 Laptop, so i can setup EQDIR and jsut do everything from a VNC session in the comfort of my living room

and i have read that the alignment through that is better ....

$50 for a wireless joypad !!!

I don't even bother using the 1,2 or 3 Star Align now.
This way is much quicker because I don't have to hunt through the list of alignment stars to find one that isn't hidden behind a tree or shed.

Hey, I just noticed, I'm on my way to 6000 posts! I wonder how many days to go?
