Sunspot 1024, medium resolution, Brisbane, 6th July.

Hello

Here is an image of Sunspot 1024 captured on 6th July at the prime focus (2160mm) of the Mewlon 180 F12 using a DMK31AF04.AS CCD camera.

The seeing made it difficult to confidently dial in the correct focus, as the few moments where details snapped into focus were very rare. This image is a stack of the 10 best frames from a 1500 frame AVI so the quality is a bit marginal.

I had planned to fit the Canon 40D for a full disc shot but by the time I had gone upstairs to get the camera and the various adapters and accessories, the clouds had rolled in!

Cheers

Dennis

Thanks for posting the pic Dennis. It's a beauty!
Lucky you snapped it yesterday cause it'll probably be gone by the time we see the sun again.
