It looks like the SLT130 has a rack and pinion focuser as standard so in theory this should be an improvement. I have a crayford like the one you are looking at and while it is no engineering masterpiece it does the job for me. As Steve points out on his website the hole spacing might be different and it would be worth checking this out to avoid a lot of messing around. There are much better quality focusers than this available but it depends on how much you want to spend. You might want to check if you can get one with a 10:1 fine focus mechanism. Check out the Bintel ATM supplies page...

The base plate of that focuser wont fit the curvature of the 130mm scope and is designed for larger tubes.

I think unless you have access to someone who can machine an appropriate adapter you are going to be stuck with what you have. Perhaps there is some way to improve the existing focuser by adjusting cleaning and regreasing?

I got a GSO 10:1 micro focuser from Andrews a year ago for my 130SLT. Don't worry too much about the curvature of the base plate. What you need to make sure is that you square it out correctly. I just put some spacers on the 4 bolts holding it in then shimmed the rest.
