Astronomy is a multi disciplined field, does it matter if you contribute your brain power or your life to the cause. The contribution is the thing.

Did she get a chance to look out a window at the Earth? That'll do!


Edit: I just checked, Sputnik 2 didn't have a window - it was just a little padded cell.
