synscan update

Not new News, cant find it reported elsewhere, but there is a small update to synscan available on the Skywatcher site

Date: Jan. 26, 2009
=================================== ============================

1. Fix the bug existed in the Time Zone Setting—Problem: Unable to save the data entered by using the scroll-down key. Result: Now the user is able to enter the data by pressing either the scroll-down and scroll-up key.

2. Fix the bug existed in the PAE Function—Problem: Incorrect data calculation occurred when the RA axis of the telescope (AX2) was pointed at a negative angle. Solution: Now the PAE functions properly when the RA axis (AZ2) is pointed at a negative angle.

The second one is probably the most important fix, and may explain a couple of earlier threads where PAE was not providing great results.

Thanks for that, are there instructions for how to carry out the upgrade?

The lights do go out quickly, I wish they would add an option to nominate "on" time..

I've only used the mount once since loading the new version, so it might have been a fluke, but I had the best go-to accuracy Ive ever had. - dead center all over the sky.
