Auto dark subtraction

I am currently doing auto dark subtraction on my 1000D and am not sure if it is the best way of doing darks.

If I take a 10min sub, the camera then does another 10min auto dark subtract. So that would be 20min for each image.

Is this the most efficient way of taking darks with this camera?

Thanks

Frank

Take your own dark frames for ultimate control. Works for me. Others may advise otherwise.
