Swine Flu

Dr Dr I think I've got the swine flu

Let me check you chest

Ah yes I can hear a bit of crackling

Dr Dr I think I've got the swine flu

Ah yes here use this oinkment

On a serious note was anyone else apart from me disgusted with 60 minutes blatant sensationalism on Sunday night

This swine flue is a load of hogwash (no pun intended). It's BS driven by the media. More people die from the ordinary flu every day than have died from this swine flu "epidemic" in the past 2 weeks. In fact, ten times the amount, no a hundred times the amount of people die from the ordinary flu.

I have my suspicions, but then people would call me a conspiracy nut.

Sure was Trev. I was very mad that they did not investigate whether the journalists' sister had normal human flu or not.

The answers all appear to be whitewashed to me at present.

I could vent alot of my opinions on this, but here is not the place.

I was hoping it might thin the worlds population out a bit. Guess the world authorities make it normal practise to react like such when people sneeze. Perhaps they should of done nothing...Wished I owned a chemist...that's for sure.

On my recent return flight from Fiji we had a swine flu scare.
On landing we had 3 paramedics and 2 quarantine officers rush on board to check out a sick little girl who had, the week before been to an affected area.
We're to report if we show any flu symptoms that develop over the next 7 days.
Authorities are taking this very seriously, so maybe we should too.

Not that I don't think the jokes aren't pretty funny.

Just that we don't need another killer flu around now do we?
Not knowing if the cold your child has is just a cold or something more serious.
Seeing the looks on those parents faces on the plane.... the looks on everyones faces on the plane.
Very sobering indeed.

Without sounding like a meany, I agree. We're far too overpopulated already. We keep interfering with nature, lengthening our lifespans more than nature intended, and saving people who nature intended to cull [for whatever reason]. Medications, operations, etc are all contributing to some serious over population problems, which are having a serious impact on the rest of the species sharing this planet with mankind.

This swine flu is potentially no worse than ordinary flu. Be worried when it's a flu that hibernates for 7-14 days without showing symptoms, but is contagious from day 0, doesn't respond to anti biotics, and kills within 36-48 hours. It'll eventually happen, nature likes to mutate, it's called evolution.

The whole problem has been blown out of proportion, lies and misinformation have been spread by the media, and governments are locking down more as a result. I'm more worried about 1984 style governments than this flu to be honest.

48 minutes is tabloid/checkbook journalism - just a glorified version of A Current Affair. Sensationalism is it's game.

given you could have been exposed, you are allowed to wander at will in the community and potetially spread it? That doesnt seem as though they took it that seriously.

having said that ... hope you are well

if they cant stop 100kgs of drugs getting into the country, cant see them stopping a microbe.

off to get some oinkment....
