Moon, Venus, Mars, Mercury and M45 over Brisbane

Hi all,

Here's the view from Mt Coot-tha at about 5:30 this morning. I decided to make the most of the clear-ish skies, because the forecast tomorrow and Sunday is not very good.

It should be even better tomorrow, provided the clouds stay away!

Thanks for looking.

Cheers,
Stephen

Hi Stephen

Well done, that’s a ripper of a shot. Mate, you’re single handedly showcasing Brisbane astro photography to the Forum, I must rekindle my enthusiasm and help shoulder the responsibility! LOL!

Cheers

Dennis

Very nice, I will have to have a look out early in the morning tomorrow and see if I can get something instead of just jumping on the computer as is my usual practice!

Thanks very much for the comments everyone!

There was a nice bright Iridium flare (the first I've seen!) a few moments after I took this, but it was just a bit to the north of this field of view. Shame that wasn't in the frame as well!

I'll try and get some shots from the local park tomorrow, if it's clear. Hope the rain goes away for those down south!

Yes, I know what you mean Odille. I got up at 5 again this morning, and there was almost complete cloud cover. Had some glimpses of the Moon and Venus through the cloud, but that was it. Glad I got those shots yesterday!

Cheers,
Stephen
