Astronomical societies/clubs in Brisbane

Ok so with the arrival of my first telescope any day now, its probably worthwhile to join a club. Can anyone give any recommendations for Brisbane Southside?

thanks

Rod

Hi Rod

There's a few in South East Queensland.

Check the list here:

All of the Brisbane clubs are fantastic. If you want to go to the darkest sites possible with a great bunch of people, then the SAS is a great bet for you on the south side.

I'm General Secretary of the AAQ, and we use a site much closer into town - still a mag 6+ site though but no need to stop over. Many of our members gravitate toward scientific astronomy too, so if you aspire to doing research projects then give us a shout.

If you are willing to travel to the north, the BAS is the place to go to get married (is it 5 weddings now?), and SEQAS does fantastic urban outreach work.

The message is simple - get involved!
