Sagittarius Widefield

A little shot I took tonight. Basiclly just pointed at the "teapot" took a bunch and saw what I got. Have so far identified 8 Messiers namely M22, M24, M28, M8, M20, M7, M25 and M21, should also be able to see M69 and M70 but haven't tracked 'em down yet.

Details. Canon 400d, 50mm f1.8 lense stopped to f4.0. Unguided and piggybacked on EQ2 mount. 28x30s at ISO400. Stacked and darks and flats applied in DSS. Adjusted levels and curves in Photoshop elements. I think I have overprocessed this a bit, will have a bit more of a play in the morning!

Have had a closer look and have now located M70, M69, M18, M59 and NGC 6723. That makes 12 Messiers and one NGC without even really trying to find the other NGC objects in the image.

Nice to get a pleasant evening at last, clear skies, steady 9 degrees, slight breeze so virtually no dew to speak of and (most importantly) the Tiges had a win!
