To encourage more group participation we've decided to go back to our previous image submission method.
The Monthly Photo Challenge will no longer be anonymous so just post your entry here, along with a caption if you like, then at the end of the month I'll run the poll as usual.
As usual we'll have a separate Comments thread so that we don't clutter this thread.
So image submissions only here please, (one image per member).
I took this one when Anne-Louise was leaving the hospital with Toliman. It is the shadow of Hadar screening the light being diffracted onto the concrete path by the sanded edge of the glass fence panels.
well not quite up to some of the others but this shot has a bit of mystery about it - light and dark shadows - you never know what is lurking in the shadows..........
I just love the long shadow of the palm tree eerily projected across the sand. It contrasts so strongly with the colourful and brightly lit scene. Russ
With dull, cloudy skies over Brisbane today, I was driven indoors to interpret this month’s theme – Light and Shadow. So, here is a macro shot of a common kitchen knife, taken with flash to add a little drama. Thanks for looking!
Canon 40D with Canon EF-S 60mm F2.8 Macro lens.
ISO100, 1/60 sec at F8.
Not sure of the "rules" of these challenges, ie whether the shot needs to be taken this month. This is the closest I have taken in May that would meet the mandate. I was on the tarmac boarding a plane from Mt Isa when I saw this beautiful sunset. I stopped and took this, much to the annoyance of the ground crew. Shame about the mobile stairs.
This seem to be the month to enter the photo challenge So this is my submission to it. This was taken North of Newman in WA with a hand held Minolta S414 @ 1/125 sec, f3.6 and ISO 80
