First light - Mod 350D (Thanks Eric) - Rho Oph / Antares
Got my old 350D back from modification with Eric a week or so ago and put itn thrught its paces with a trial last night on Rho / Antares. I had imaged this pre-mod and gotten absolutely no red / gold. There is red nebulosity around Sigma Scorpius in teh original tiffs and the whole hting looks bluer after jpg compression but its only a tes. Took a while to work out white balance etc and I havent used a DSLR for nearly a year (forgotten focusing, framing etc when you actually have to stand up and go to the camera - spoilt with the CCD)
Anyway this is the sensitivity test from last night. I know the lens isnt up to it at f2.8 and the colour could do with some work but I told Eric I would post first light and this is it (Coma etc doesnt warrant any more work on it). Gives me great hope for future imaging with it. Just had the 3 best nights at Leyburn, dark, seeing good and for a change no cloud - plenty of data to take home and play with.
Mod 350D, Sigma 75 - 200 f2.8, 10 x 5 min subs, NR on, DSS, PS
Hi Mark thanks for your kind words. Thats excellent result for first light. It surely don't look like it . If you don't mind sending me the stacked image so i can have a closer look that will be great. cheers
