Meade LX 90 external power input socket

Can some kind member accurately identify the external input power socket to the LX 90 Meade Scope.

Is the center pin plus + or negative -? It isn't marked nor is there any reference to it in the hand book.

To all who replied, I thank, especiallyJohn and Anna for the detailed diagram of the LX 90 which shows the Centre pin as Positive and I now have my LX90 up and running on a small 12v DC lead acid rechargeable battery. C dry cells are not easy to find and like most dry cells one purchases there is no way of knowing how long they have been in stock. Dry cells loose their charge with age and they are not a cheap item when one rquires 8 off. A firm as widely known as Meade should identify the power phase as most electrical equipent is marked to day.
