90mm x 1.0mm thread

G'day all

Does anyone know the bore size and thread depth for a 90mm x 1.0mm thread? None of my charts or books have reference to this one so any help would be appreciated.

Got any idea which standard it would be made to? American metric?
Got Machinery's Handbook here if you can narrow it down a little more.

G'day Simon

Its for Trevs GSO RC and I am not sure which standard they will be using. pitch will be 1.0mm @60 degrees but after that I really have no idea. If you can give me some options when I measure it I should be able to work the rest out from there. Being a visual back the threads are going to have to be a very close match depth wise or to focuser will just flap around in the breeze.

Hi,

That would be an Extra Fine series, but no matter the diameter the truncated nominal thread height of a Metric 1.0mm male thread is 0.613mm and a female thread, 0.514mm (full height is 0.866mm) . We can work from there for a 90mm nominal diameter to get for a bore:

Bore size (equivalent to tap drill size) 88.917
Thread depth 0.514

If you stone a little radius on the tip of the thread cutting tool (good practice) this depth will be a tiny bit less. However with a thread this fine it can only be a slight radius, say 0.05.

The standard is here

Cheers
