Gday....had a go at capturing the southern pinwheel last night I used a ST4000xcm ccd and a Celestron C9.25 at F/10 to grab 10x15min lights with 20 darks and flats/bias frames. Nice night, starting to get colder, also good to use the Black Cat for those smaller targets. Cheers for looking

Looks good - great colours and detail. The 10min exposures sure paid off in terms of capturing the outer arms.

Perhaps a tad too sharp for me.

What an amazing capture.
Best detail in there.
Very worthy contender.
Cheers Kev.

Lovely image, Stuart. Perhaps a tad too stretched bringing some background noise up, but I love the galaxy itself.

Nice work!

Hi Stuart

That is a fabulous image. You’ve certainly got your rig under control to produce such a lovely portrait at F10 with the C9.25; I’d love to see the 2000x2000 pixel version!

Cheers

Dennis

Thanks very much for the feedback fellas......replaced the original with another sample with some slight smoothing to reduce the noisy perimeter of the galaxy

Rich colours and nice tight stars for 15 min subs !!!

Well done, the ST4000xcm and C9.25 look like a great combo.
