Trifid Nebula

Hi All

Here's another image from 22nd April. Only three 600 sec exposures due to same guiding problem as with M16 ( SMOKE ).

Anyway on having another look at it I quite like the result. I have hardly done any processing on this other than colour balance and slight USM.

Good job Steve. I'd try to neutralise the background to reduce the reddish hue. A boost in cyan in the shadows would do the trick or you could use curves. This would accentuate the blue reflection nebulosity surrounding the nebula, though I suspect you'll need much more data to bring this out. You may wish to sit on a target a night. The greater the data, the more you'll extract from it.

Sorry for not replying to you Jase ... I've since posted an update of this image with extra data added and background neutralised I think .... thanks !
