Star trails at Stockport

Took this image last night at Stockport.

Details of the image can be found at the bottom of the page.

Light pollution is starting to get bad at Stockport, which is a real shame. The image has a distinct pink hue at the bottom of the image.

Comments welcome.

Oh yea!!!
I'm a real fan of star trails and that's a beaut........
They look very similar to the efforts with my D200.

Try stacking shorter length exposures.

Cheers

Very bold image, Paul! Star trails are always striking. For how long did you illuminate the observatory? A couple of exposures? And just a single redlight torch?

Eric, the obs was illuminated by the red light coming out of the ground floor. So it was in every image. A red torch would have done it for sure.
