M8-Lagoon
Had a go at M8 on the 29th march.
Still arguing with the EQ3 but, still managed six dodgy two minute exposures plus darks at iso 800.
Six inch F5 Newtonian and D200 at prime focus.
Cheers
Deeno

Deeno,
not a bad result given the equipment if you dont mind my saying so
a six inch on the EQ3 is a real challenge I can imagine but I respect pushing gear to its limits!
I think its almost there, there's a wee bit of trailing but not much
I'd also consider clipping the black point a bit personally and boost saturation by about 20-25 points in PS if you use it
personal taste these things but i think it would bring it out a bit more.
There's also an ofset function that cold be used (one pixel both ways0 which might reduce star trails?

Mate !!
You amaze me with what you pull off with that mount.
Well done, it's not the easiest thing to polar align and work with especially with it carrying a 6" and a DSLR.
Nice work Deeno.

Thanks for the comments fella's
Coaxing the little EQ3 into behaving can be a little frustrating
But, after a lengthy debate with the minister of finances...............
Wha....?
Is that a brand spanking new HEQ-5 set up in the middle of the lounge room?????

Nice image! I dare say if you can do that with an EQ3, the HEQ5 is going to see you producing some stunning images!
Ps. Congratulations on obviously winning the debate with the minister of finances!
Alex.

Good shot Deeno and congrats on the new mount! I had one of these a few years ago and found them to be very stable and track well.
