Hey Astroron & AstralTraveller,

Very good thread. I live on 2 acres approx 35k N of Brisbane. Hundreds of 'Bufo marinus' here at night. Many frogs, as well.

The dogs fortunately ignore them. We have very few mosquitoes
The wild life seems to have learnt to live with the toads and ignore them as well.

What my biggest gripe with the toads is that they dig harbourage holes amongst the sandstone walls. I've been filling the holes with coloured concrete.

Apart from that they are not as bad as what people believe them to be.

Although I would rather have the native frogs keeping the mosquito population in check.
Not much can be done now. Even Cane Toad "Myxomatosis" is not a solution. It would simply mean a super Toad would develope from the survivors.

From Toad Hollow,
Cheers Marty
