Time lapse - Nocturnal clouds

With no EQ6, only a tripod, 70% moon and clouds...it wasn't looking good for regular astronomy.

Looking south across the neighbours front paddock between the hours of 1:00AM - 3:30am 08/04/09.
40D, 1min exp, f6.3, ISO400, taken every 3mins.

Nocturnal clouds

And a single image entitled '3AM'...

This is great, Justin.

I've now got everything together to attempt similar timelapse sequences. DSLR, DSLR Shutter, working cable. I'm looking forward to having fun.

Thankyou all for the kind response, I'm glad you like it.

I've got a bit of a soft spot for animation so it won't be the last one you see from me.
We get some awesome thunder storms up this way...almost looking forward to the start of the next wet season(shudder).

Just a shame Photobucket massacre the avi into a small flv file, lost a lot of detail.

Thx Eric.
I found the animation. It was staring me in the face all the time.

Nice work again Justin, I had to have a second look at the animation.

Had another play at full moon last night, this time looking north-east over the roof of the house.

Tried some new settings: 15sec exp, f6.3, ISO 800, taken in continuous shooting, liveview 'silent mode'.
A little dark, f5 may have been better. the flv turned out even darker still, check the single image attachment for comparison.

At about a third of the way through a streak is seen moving east-west to left side of screen.
Not easy to see the details in the flv but it starts at the roofline, makes two rapid zigzags left and continues on toward the tree at left.
Very strange, and in the sky for 4 minutes total.
...Oh and there's a plane at the end of it too.
