Source of small compression springs?

I'm working on ways to make some optical flats 'collimateable'.
I wondering where I would source of some small compression springs, no more than 20mm long, 6 to 10mm in diameter, with some reasonable strength/torsion.

Ideas would be appreciated.

Cheers
Chris

Try EBay for a "Assorted Springs". They come is sets. Just the thing if you are planning to use heaps, or if they are cheap enough...

Try “Small Parts & Bearings” in Brisbane – they do mail order.

Here is a link to their website for compression springs.

Thanks for the ideas, I saw those sets on ebay, problem is I need a dozen of the one size. I know Bunnings have springs, but not much in the way of the smaller sizes. I might drive up to Bendigo and see what they do have.

Chris,

These might be a bit longer than wht you are looking for but I got these from Bunnings:

Utility Comp Spring C-624 3/8 x 1-1/8 x 0.041
Utility Comp Spring C-632 7/16 x 1-1/16 x 0.041

So diameter is ok but a bit long - you might be able to cut one down?

Would old springs out of clutch plates be any good?
Try the auto wreckers or a auto repairer?
Should cost just about nothing.

Thumbs up

Thanks guys,

Problem solved.

Before driving to Bunnings in Bendigo I decided to check with the local hardware place here in Kyneton, and for the first time ever he had some of what I wanted!

1/4" x 1/2" x .035, pack of 3 for $4.10

Picture attached in case anyone else is looking for similar item.

$10 of fuel saved!

Cheers
