Centaurus A

Had a go at this a couple of weeks ago when the clouds actually cleared for a while over Bris. First time I've had a serious go at a galaxy without ICNR. Took me a while to get around to shooting suitable darks at same temp too (wife wanted to know why the air con was running late one night and there was clicking going on downstairs.....)

9 x 180 secs with flats (20) and darks (38)
Canon 450D ISO 800, MPCC, LPS

Would love to tease a bit more of the nebulosity out, but I'm probably pushing it already for city sky glow I guess. Got my galaxy fix anyway!

I like this shot - its got a 'real' look to it. Like I could look through the eyepiece and see that

Thanks guys.

Yeah, you're right Fred. 2 reasons I guess:

1. I felt I was losing a bit of the outskirts dimming the blue from the LP filter (pretty subjective though)
2. Was muckin' around with it midnight last night when I should have been in bed - sometimes you're better to come back to the processing after a rest I s'pose
