Eta Carina Nebula

Hi All,

A quick Eta Carina Nebula with the RCX400 setup.

L(Ha)RGB, 30, 25, 25, 20 minutes in five minute subs.

Eta Carina itself bloomed heavily through all of the subs, so there are some processing artifacts from the deblooming.

Cheers
Stuart

Cropped the image a bit to get rid of the straggly bits off the edges.

Other than that it's at f/6 on the RCX400 with the AP0.75x reducer.

Cheers
Stuart

Nice job Stuart.

What I like about Eta Carina is even though it is such a well known and imaged object it can be presented in so many subtly different ways, every version is a little different.

Nice

Mike

Excellent Stuart. Some more work on the stars would make this smooth narrowfield a classic, nice noise control too.

Thanks for all the positive feedback.

Personally I think this target deserves better, but it's very hard to do it justice with such a wide variation in brightness.

I think next time I'll do more shorter subs. I looked at the Hubble image and it depresses me...

Cheers
Stuart
