Lulin

Hey there fellow spoters,
two questions.
1.Best time to see the Lulin comit? I will be looking toward Cancer between the 18/4 and 26/4, is this corect?

2. I borrowed a"doubler" from a friend as it seemed to work on their Celeston 8" but I couldnt get it to focus on my own Dob 8". Are they just a fancy gimick as the image is not realy any better than if I use my 9mm eye piece on both scopes. I usualy use a 15mm and then go to the 9mm. Yes we both have 1.25".

Hi Mike

1. Lulin is well past its best already, so it's getting fainter and harder to observe.

2. By "doubler" do you mean a 2x barlow? If you already have a 15mm and a 9mm, there's not too much point using a 2x barlow with the 15mm. The 9mm will most likely give a better view.
Depending on your range of eyepieces, barlows can be useful.
