Moon with Zenithstar

My LX 200 is being serviced so l decieded to get a few quick pics through the new refractor, a bit rushed because the cloud was rolling in but not a bad start.

That's a great shot, one of your best moon shots Mick!

What camera did you use?

I used the LPI with a VR-1 filter, it was a single exposure at .004, gain 50% and offset 20%, and sharp edge filter. l had a quick play with the histogram settings but didn't take note of the final numbers.

So did you get the Zenithstar brand new Mick? How does it perform?I was a millisecond away from getting one but grabbed your Orion ED80 instead!

l bought it brand new from Advanced Telescope Supplies, l was looking to get a W.O 2" dielectric diagonal and they were $465.00 and then l saw the Zenithstar package all up for $870.00 inc diagonal and VR-1 filter, it has a slightly shorter f/l than the Orion but l would say the viewing is equal, the Zenithstar is certainly better build quality than the Orion and it has a fully rotatable focuser but optically they are on a par.
