Frustration, yeah just a little bit lol. Both the binno's & cam on tripods, position the camera tripod and then the moon moves out of the binno's view, move the binno's then have to position the cam again.
I take it from you signature that you're using the 350D for your photos? When I first tried to take afocal I had no end of frustration trying to keep the camera (canon A10) lined up with the eyepiece. I ended up using the tripod, with the legs extended but not spread out (like a monopod). I found it much easier to keep the camera lined up then as I could slowly rotate the tripod/monopod (in very small increments) to keep the moon in the screenview or viewfinder or move it sideways. I only had to worry about the up and down lineup then. And even then it was easier as I had the tripod/monopod foot on a wedge so that if I lifted the camera and tripod it stayed that little bit higher or I could gently kick the foot of the tripod down the wedge to lower it. Took some getting used to but it worked. It was easier than having to try to get the eyepiece and camera lens lined up and image framed, focused and shot before the moon moved out of the field of view. Wouldn't hurt to give it a try.

, that's a great idea using the tripod that way, never thought of that when i was trying to align the cam.
