Newbie question on balancing and EQMOD

When I balace my EQ6 on Dec and RA I can see that it balanced when its horizonal (wont move once the locking clamp is released) but once its near the home position it tends to move towards horizontal position once clamps are released. So is it right to say that balance cant be achieved 100% for all positions at the same time?

I also read few articles where it indicates for imaging its better to balace the scope for the are you want to image. Is that right?

On EQMod I see the option of Reverse RA / Reverse Dec. When do you check it when do you uncheck it?

Regards

Yep, balance is a bit of a compromise, especially with a Newtonian. As the tube is turned from one side to the other the "heavy" side of the tube (the one with the focusser or finder) will change the balance a bit. SCTs and refractors balance better, but still not perfect.
