Here is CG12 and NGC 5367. They are rarely imaged and now I know why -- they are really faint objects, particularly CG12. Still, they are pretty.

Dark skies and great equipment coupled with expert processing skills and an unhealthy infactuation with dust

...has a habit of producing mystical thought provocing skyscapes for sure.

brilliant image! Just out of curiosity, how long are the individual subs? and how many nights does it take you to collect 9 and a half hours of data?

it seems rare here to have a run of two successive clear night these days in Sydney

Each subframe was 600 seconds, not matter which filter. It took several nights to get this image because of moon and cloud interruptions.

Was it William Herschel who said the universe was a garden with many plants all at different stages of growth. It is up to us to work out how they are all related.

I have just seen something I did not know anything about. It is another beautiful dust cloud forming stars with their associated planets. It is these dust clouds that produced our solar system eons ago and then ultimately us.

Thanks for an inspiring image tom. I will try and do a widefield to put the object into context even if it is just for my own mind.
In fact with a mosaic should be able to show Omega Cent. and Alpha Cent. in the same field.
