Here's another galaxy - this time from last night. This is a stack of 35x2min subs using the DSI II pro/10" newt combination.

I'm quite pleased with the results considering two of my neighbours had their flood lighting on in the garden at the time and the moon was at 80%.

Comments welcome.

Really nice image Peter,
Heaps of detail and structure visible in it and a couple of other fainter galaxies in the field.

Regards
Trevor

Well done Peter, you've done a great job on that one. You've captured some nice detail in those side on arms.

cheers

Thanks Ric. I had another play with curves last night to increase the contrast a bit...

Nice galaxy Peter ... I think I'll have crack at this one when the moon diminishes and the clouds bugger off. I like the structure.

Thanks JJJ and Carl - it could do with a lot more time to really bring out the details.

Thanks Steve - it's a good scale and not too dim with interesting detail in the arms - definately worth another attempt from a dark site.

Lovely image Peter of a very detailed spiral galaxy.

Looking at such simple images reminds me yet again of just how difficult getting anything even close to this was just a generation ago with film...probably impossible really without an AAT..?
