IceInSpace is now on twitter:

Twitter can definitely be frustrating, but also very interesting. It's certainly getting a lot of publicity lately, being mentioned on Rove on Sunday night and on ABC radio yesterday too. ABC management are encouraging all of their staff to start "twittering".

If you just use the main twitter.com interface it can get very clunky very quickly. 3rd party applications like tweetdeck make it bearable and help to filter the signal from the noise.

so, if everyone starts twittering will anyone get any work done?
do these tools actually increase productivity, keep it steady, or decrease productivity.
My guess is one of the latter two.

At work we have banned access to twitter.com

I have not investigated how to ban any of the related tools you mention. hmmm...will look into this further. Thanks, mike!

will this be like the ABC's "failed" foray into Second Life?
Did any company that tried to promote themselves through Second Life find that it was of use?
