Saturn 03/03/09

Well it's been a long time between drinks. It seems like it's been overcast for the last 4 months up here.

I'm no judge of seeing(yet) but I'd say 5/10. Observing Saturn through the 9mm EP there were "moments" when the image became crisp and banding was clearly visible.

I've include a raw frame to show what sort of data I've had to work with.

Taken with the spc900 and 5x powermate

cheers

Mark

That's a nice image, Mark. Good colours and sharpness.

What codec are you recording with? There looks to be a lot of compression artifacts, either introduced during capture or when saving for web.

Hi Mike, recording with the YUY2 codec. I think that's the new one they put out with the spc900. I won't pretend to know much about it.
