Star did not move enough

Hey all,

I am using PHD in conjunction with an EQ6 and ED80

When I calibrate to the east or west (close to the celestial equator) the calibration goes like a dream and I can watch the star move away from, and back towards the crosshair as it does it.

When I calibrate to the south (closer to the SCP) the calibration runs for 30 or 40 seconds, then stops with an error message, that states, "Star did not move enough."

What does this mean and how do I fix it?

If I can't get a calibration around the southern sky, then I can't autoguide there.

Baz.

Hi Baz,
You will need to increase your "calibration step" in the "brain"
If it 750 ish, make it 1000 or larger and see if it helps.

Also Barry, if your mount has variable guide rates, try setting it to one of the higher rates (1.5x, 2.0x) while calibration is taking place, and when PHD reports that it's finished and is guiding, flip back to 0.3x, 0.5x or whatever your normal guide rate is.
