Penumbral Lunar Eclipse 09/02/2009 as seen from Perth Western Australia

Hi All,

I decided to have a late night for a week night with work the next day to get some images of the Lunar eclipse. The sky was clear so there was no excuses not to get the gear out and set-up.

This is one of the images taken.

I hope to make up an animation later to show the shadow travelling accross the face of the moon.

Thanks for looking.

Chris

Nicely done Chris!

Checking your site, I recognised the face. I met you at the last AGWA meeting and we were discussing camera/drift alignment, and the artificial guidestar unit you had.

Keep up the good work

Hi leinad - OK on meeting at the last AGWA meeting - At times I have trouble matching the names with faces, I remmber the discussion but have not yet tired the your face to the name - I guess we will meet up at the next AGWA meeting and that will solve that problem. Thanks for your comments.

Mike - This animation will take a little longer than the solar eclipse as I have a few more factors to get consitent to make a gif file that is pleasent on the eye. I will post it here once I have done it.

Jen - Thanks also for the comments

Thanks

Chris
