A quite bright nebula. One I haven't imaged much before.
6 hours 30 minutes. HaLRGB 140 90 60 60 40 (clouds interrupted blue one night and so did dawn on the other).
TEC180mm FL, Apogee U16M, Baader LRGB filters, Astrodon 5nm Ha.
Taken at my dark site.
Robofocus made it easy to get focus great but imaging to low angles made some subs stars enlarge a bit. I was happy with this image as it was mostly imaged during really hard winds (40-60kmh) which didn't bother it at all.
And here is a tease. How far can this scope resolve??
This minute crop is taken from somewhere in the main image. It is like a miniature Horsehead. Can you guess where I cropped it from?

Excellent FOV and overall presentation is very nice.
I found the baby panther following his mother too, easy peasy (I was always good at Where's Wally too )...it's the little spike behind the big spike (the leaping panther) in the Halpha image.

So many stars! Much more than im used to seeing in an image of the rosette.
As Mike predicted this TEC scope is special.

If you click on the previous button top left of the image it will show a previous processing version I did last night. It is more red. Things like how red it should be is a hard call. I understand what you mean.
Yeah, I like that previous processed shot. It's really a matter of preference whether you like it redder or not. If you were being true to life, it'd be a dull greyish blue-green in colour and dim as all hell!!!!

Excellent work and the scope is certainly delivering fantastic data.
You're also doing a great job in processing that data and I agree that it's a personal preference in the end how much colour is in the final image.
renormalised is correct in that if we were to process to what the eye sees it would be a "dull greyish blue-green" but that's not why we image these objects for such long exposures.

Thanks Doug. I did a more colourful version which looked good when I did it but looked bad to me the next day! So I'll try that again. I have a setup of layers that worked well to accentuate the various colours. I just took it too far.
