For Sale: Celestron Nexstar SE Alt-Az Mount

Hi all,

I'm looking at selling my hardly used near new Celestron Nexstar SE Alt-Az Mount. It has just been sitting in the cupboard so I am selling it to fund some other equipment.

It is in great condition and has only been used a couple of times before being religated to the cupboard when I purchased my EQ6.

The mount is really easy to use and align. Celestron's SkyAlign technology allows you to align on three bright celestial objects without you needing to know its name or position. Just point and align it with three objects in the sky. I found this particular alignment process to be very simply and accurate. It also includes 1, 2, 3 star alignment and also a planetary alignment mode.

Traking is very smooth especially at higher magnifications. For example. I use this mount for imaging Jupiter with my C8 at a 4000+ mm focal length. The mount kept Jupiter on the CCD chip with no bobbing, jumping or skipping. So you can imagine tracking at a lower magnification.

The mount easily carried my C8 (5.5kg) and I have read it can carry upto 7kg comfortably, maybe even more.

It takes a standard Vixen style dovetail and includes a AUX and autoguiding port for use with a wedge for astrophotography and maybe a GPS system.

The mount seperates into two pieces making it great for transport.

Package includes:

Celestron Nexstar SE Alt-Az Mount with Tripod
Nexstar Hand Controller
Serial Cable for connecting it to a computer
Nexstar software CD's

Have a look here for more info.
http://www.celestron.com/c3/product.php?ProdID=416

Asking $550 plus postage. Still have the foam for the top half of the mount not for the tripod.

If you have any questions regarding the mount please either send me a PM or post a message here.

Thanks.

Matt
