Post Early Flying Mammal May Have Beaten the Birds

Here's a link to an early mammal (probably late Jurassic/early Cretaceous) called Volaticotherium antiquum. Looks much like a squirrel.....

Cute little fella may have beaten the birds to the punch in so far as flying goes

That's an interesting article. Probably a distant cousin of the sugar glider.
