To Finish Off The Year - M45
This was taken back in late September when I did my Andromeda M31 shot.
The weather suddenly put an end to the session on M31 so I quickly swung the scope to the Pleiades and took off the reducer to capture 2 x 10 min frames of M45.
I didn't want to frame all of it in, rather I wanted to concentrate on just the centre section of M45.
I was hoping to get a chance at more data for this one but the weather has been terrible since and I haven't had the chance to gather any more shots, so here it is, the best I could do with what I had:
M45 The Pleaides
Wishing everyone a Happy New Year !
Cheers
Andrew

Lovely colour and detail Andrew, and for only 20 mins!! Gives me something to aim for when I try reprocessing my own.

Good one Andrew .... pity the weather hasn't allowed you to do some more on M45 now that it is higher in the sky earlier ... maybe in the New Year.

Thank you so much everyone, glad you liked it.
I'm hoping to have another go at it asap, with more exposure.
Longer subs sure work out better than the equivalent amount using shorter subs.
Cheers

That's sweet Andy,
real nice subtle colours and well done for only 2 subs.
Sometimes images of this object can look way over the top.
All the best

Agree, longer subs would have done this image wonders RB. You've still managed to extract some of the fantastic wisps of nebulosity. Undoubtedly more data would allow you to stretch it harder. Look forward to seeing more. Well done.

great shot RB - when are you going to get a real telescope so you can fit the whole thing in (corker of a shot mate was that with the DS60mm refractor?)
green with envy with the shot RB, the detail is pretty darn good
