http://www.rigelsys.com/ -This is a link to a US Rigel Systems Spectrscope-Dose anyone know of any suppliers of thses Instruments-Reguard's Tony-Is there anyone in australia who makes Spectrascopes-Reguard'e Tony
Spectroscopic gratings are available through Paton Hawksley (Star Analyser) - Rainbow Optics do a similar grating but don't seem to ship outside the US.
The rigel system is a 600 l/mm set-up which is different as it sits behind an eyepiece....
For "serious" slit spectroscopes there are:
SBIG - they sell the SGS and DSS7 versions
Baader - the Dados and Braches echelle spectrograph
Shelyak - the LhiresIII Littrow, LISA low res, and the eShel echelle model, all these are very good but very expensive.
(These are reviewed in "Astronomical Spectroscopy for Amateurs" p77-p85)

Reason: reference to ASA added
That's exactly the problem!
The cost of entry for novices is too high and not everyone is prepared to pay thousands of dollars for an instrument they may never master and has limited resale value.
In recognising this problem the Y! group astronomical_spectroscopy has designed a Littrow spectroscope Kit for less than $900. Hopefully it will encourage amateurs to "Boldly go......"
