EQ for 10inch Newtonian

Question for the brains trust. If i were tossing around the idea of mounting my 10 inch Newt (currently dob) onto an EQ moterised mount would an EQ5 cut it?

Hi Mick.

An EQ5 won't handle an 10" Newt well. An EQ6 would be the ideal mount for your 10" Newt.

Don't know , I doubt it if you want to use it to do any imaging , probably OK for just visual though.

Mine will be going onto my New Atlux when I've rebuilt the OTA. (Will one day go to a bigger fast Newt (maybe a 14-16")).

My old CG5 handled it when it had it's old Formatube tube.
