Heads up Cheap book.

While shopping for Xmas stuff at Kmart I spotted a book titled "The Universe". The book (reprinted but originally released May 2007) is a massive 160 pages, size, a whopping 600mm x 420 with countless colour images, discounted to $23.99, there were also some other titles there as well that could be of interest. I wouldn't necessarily go out of the way to visit but if you're in Kmart it may be worth checking it out, excellent value, even if you only cut out the images and mounted them.

Know the one you mean Phil.
Picked it up several weeks ago from Dymocks. Mine cost about 25 bucks, I think, but I figured it was well worth the money.
Chockerblock full of stunning images and many of them are double page spreads, giving an image size of 840 x 600.
Not the sort of book that you can read in bed at night. In fact you need a fair sized table and I found that I had to stand up to read it, as I'm slightly vertically challenged.
Excellent value though.

Yes, I have seen it in Kmart and now thinking that I need a bigger bookcase to house it!

Tried K-mart, Big W... couldn't find it but in a bookstore I picked up Space: The Ultimate Frontier - about spaceflight. Big book - great pictures and heaps of info, 160p - thumbs up. $30
In the same shop I picked up Red Mars and Green Mars for $7. Looking forward to reading them...hope I can find Blue Mars when the time comes.
