Thanks everyone, much appreciated! Only .... umm....err ...OK - 53 years old - OMG!

My wife were up early and had a great walk around Bacchus Marsh on a glorious morning, came back, had [censored] - OK it was a personal birthday present. Had a call from my sister and SMS from one son.

Yes, double prezzies were all the go when I was young. Christmas in the morning and my birthday at afternoon tea time! Onya Mum and Dad!

For reasons I won't go into here, we don't personally celebrate Christmas, but more than happy to be part of the work and community celebrations. Yes, I was the one at the Office Christmas party with the Santa hat with multi-colour LED light, the stick-on tatoo of a Christmas tree on my cheek and T-shirt that said "I can get you on the naughty list" It's amazing the inappropriate conclusions the women's minds jumped to - I was just going to show them the best places to double-park.

However, I have already treated myself to my birthday present - The BBC DVD collection on "Space". Still trying to work my way through them - great documentaries so far.

To top it off tonight, it's the best weather for months and months (forecast is "A star-studded night"!), so I'm off to spend some hours with my little C8!

Many thanks again, guys, for your kind wishes.

Eric

A big HAPPY BIRTHDAY for you Eric, hope your day was every bit as great as you made it sound.

Enjoy the viewing tonight too mate - cloudy as heck here, but I'm trapped indoors anyway so I'm glad someone is able to enjoy Clear Skies somewhere!

Famous last words! Set up with cloud coming from the West and it stayed much that way for some hours - mucky cloud overhead and to the North - just Crux in clean air. Then lots of bright lights on the horizon the clouds were approaching from. Couldn't hear any thunder but finally panicked and quickly packed up. Finally concluded it was several people playing with their latest Christmas spotlights - yes in the country

Sat back having my final cup of coffee and the sky cleared to a spectacular evening. Pulled out the club's 8" dob, put a borrowed 13mm Ethos in it , and cruised the heavens very happily for an hour. Then time to go - under starter's orders to take wife to the Boxing Day sales.

Many thanks everyone! Best wishes back to everyone for the remainder of everyone's Christmas break. I return to work on 5th Jan.
