jupiter, veus spica and the moon 6 september 2005

Hi guys

I took these just a little while ago. massive light pollution as the New greyhound racing track down the road is now operating. there goes my skies.........

yes I was using my 50-500 sigma APO lens and the poor little Pentax *istDS

and i know the racing track is out of focus. the third shot is of jupiter

nice work. i wish i had a proper camera, the sky was still blue, the moon and show was visible, venus huge.

houghy,
You got detail on the moon that nice. That 2nd last shot of yours i can almost make out a tree or antenna over the moon.. Good work.
we have something in common i too have a college ground in my west view, with thos big ugly lights. And someone was playing silly buggers with a spot light tonight..

it is the next door neighbours Date palm tree! gee whiz you must have very good eyes

Sorry to hear about that dreaded light pollution.

The one of Jupiter: - must be Jup's moons lined up next to it.
